Service Oriented Architecture (SOA, service-oriented architecture) is an architectural concept that provides functional services and functionalities. Here a service is a functionality that can be used by means of a standardized interface. Since services are realized in a various programming languages and on different system platforms SOA is used to integrate the applications.

SOA is a software architecture paradigm that you can realize on the basis of a variety of technologies.

Learning objective

You learn the Unified Modeling Language (UML). You learn to use it for documentation, analysis and the design of software. You receive a comprehensive overview over all current topics regarding UML. You get to know the various UML diagrams and apply them. You discuss basic concepts of of object-oriented software development and software documentation.
